In collaboration with the Macau University of Science and Technology, Melco Crown Entertainment held the first behind-the-scenes tour for its students, with the aim of providing some inspiration for those choosing possible careers.
The group of 30 students, led by Prof. Chen Xi, Vice President of the Macau University of Science and Technology, Prof. Philip Xie, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Ms. Brenda Yang, Program Director of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, and Ms. Amy Chan, Coordinator of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Planning, started their journey at the 5000-seat Studio City Event Center, the most premium performance venue in Macau. Students learned how an international-standard performance is produced. The group then visited the Batman Dark Flight, the world’s first flight simulation ride based on the ‘Batman’ intellectual property franchise; they were also briefed on the design, construction and operation of the Golden Reel, Asia’s highest figure-8 Ferris wheel; and the tour concluded at The House of Magic, Macau’s first multi-theater resident magic show.
During the tour, the students met with several local employees of Melco Crown Entertainment, who shared with them their unique experience in working at these world-class entertainment attractions.
