NICHOLAS TSE & JUNG YONG HWA CONFIRMED TO ‘COOK UP A STORM’ AT STUDIO CITY IN MACAU THIS SUMMER

Macau – April 25, 2016 – Studio City, Asia’s leading entertainment and leisure resort best known for its Hollywood-inspired, cinematically themed concept, is proud to be selected as one of the key locations to film the highly anticipated 4D movie “Cook Up A Storm” aka “Feng Wei Jiang Hu”. The story is built around a dramatic contest among international Michelin-starred chefs. As a prelude to the movie, lead actors Nicholas Tse and Jung Yong Hwa teamed up with Studio City’s world-acclaimed Michelin-starred chef today to show off their culinary skills, also to draw culinary inspirations from the best chef in the region.

Riding on the great success of “Chef Nic”, a food travelogue reality program starring Nicholas Tse and featuring different celebrity guests in its 12 episodes, the movie is set to build on that legacy and become the greatest hits in the region. To offer everyone a possible chance to participate in this blockbuster movie, a cast recruitment program, presented by Studio City, will be launched as part of the movie kick-off. Starting from May 10, 2016, all interested individuals can join the casting competition at the official Weibo account of Studio City.

As the filming is set to start, Raymond Yip Wai-man, director of the film, gathered the main cast including Nicholas Tse, Jung Yong Hwa, Ge You, Michelle Bai, Anthony Wong Chau Sang and Tiffany Tang Yan at Foshan today. Foshan is the first location for the film before the entire crew moves to Studio City for the most important shoots - the contest among the international Michelin-starred chefs.  Yip explained, “The movie is made to celebrate the talents in the culinary world. It is a story about a true culinary journey and the love between family and friends. Besides connecting with the real Michelin-starred chefs and restaurants, we had to find an iconic destination that is capable of touching people’s heart and also memorable to them.”

“We have been in search of such a place for long. With a diverse range of world-class restaurants by Michelin starred chefs and all the best-in-class world’s-first entertainment attractions, we know Studio City is hands down the most perfect location for us. I strongly believe Asia’s Entertainment Capital will add to the excitement and grandeur of the movie.” Yip added.

Nicholas Tse is certainly no stranger to the kitchen. Today, he teamed up with Chef Tam Kwok Fung, Director of Culinary Operations of Melco Crown Entertainment for a live cooking demonstration. Together, they cooked the 'Braised premium Fish Maw in chicken essence accompany with white asparagus’, a signature dish of Pearl Dragon at Studio City. Dedicated to perfection, Pearl Dragon offers a menu showcasing refined provincial Chinese flavors, innovative culinary creations and the finest delicacies to tempt the palate of all.

When Chef Tam Kwok Fung, Director of Culinary Operations of Melco Crown Entertainment was presented at the media event, Tse excitedly said, “I’ve the opportunity to taste the food prepared by Chef Tam’s before and I enjoyed it very much.” The two lead cast, Tse and Jung then joined Chef Tam together to cook the signature dish of Pearl Dragon, the ‘Braised premium Fish Maw in chicken essence accompany with white asparagus’. Chef Tam went on to explain, “Premium Fish Maw is seen as one of the most precious delicacies in Chinese cuisine, and the seasonal white asparagus is definitely the perfect match.”  After Chef Tam and the two lead cast who both will be playing chef in the movie have finished cooking, they were joined by the rest of the cast for the food tasting. Acclaimed actor Ge You was among the cast and he was lavish with his praise for the dish; For Jung, he even expressed his feeling in Mandarin, saying that “It’s delicious!”
